Connecticut Classic Lotto
Overview |
The Connecticut Classic Lotto has been in operation since 1972,
as the official state lottery of the state of Connecticut in the USA -
although it has previously been known by several different names. It was
set up, and still functions, as a state support lottery, having
contributed over $250 million to state programs and services since its
inception. The jackpot receives a generous 52% of all ticket sales per
draw, regardless of the carry-over amount, so you`ll find this one a
very worthwhile one to enter.
At each draw 6 numbers are drawn, with the jackpot obviously paying
out should you have picked all 6 numbers correctly. One of the pleasant
things about this lottery is that the jackpot as rarely been shared -
typically there is only one jackpot winning ticket. The jackpot starts
at a guaranteed $1 million and is carried over from draw to draw when it
is not won.
Connecticut Classic Lotto will pay out the jackpot in two
ways, depending on your personal choice - you can either get an
annuitized income for 21 years, or take a little less than half of the
cash value immediately. Of course if you take the former option, you can
will your payouts to other people in the event of your demise as well -
all payouts will continue to go to your estate. You will need to claim
your winnings within a year of the draw in which you won if you take the
annual payout option, or within 60 days if you want the cash payout. |
