June 24 - The world seems to have gone lottery crazy, with most countries
offering some type of private of national lottery game that its citizens can
enjoy, such as the Philippines that is currently drawing players from throughout
the land with its current P132 million Megalotto jackpot ($3 million).
Tomorrow night (Wed, June 25th) it is expected that millions of Philippinos will
be glued to TV sets to find out if they'll be the lucky winner of one of the
country's most lucrative Megalotto jackpot prizes to date. The Philippine
lottery is run by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
Said PCSO spokesperson, Dr. Larry Cedro, 'We are thrilled that the jackpot from
tomorrow evening's 6/45 Megalotto draw has reached such a high amount, and we
are just as excited as each of our lottery ticket holders to find out if someone
will be lucky enough to win the jackpot.
'By this morning the Megalotto jackpot prize had already reached P132.3 million.
We are expecting it to increase even further, particularly by late afternoon, as
more people rush to buy last minute lottery tickets for the chance of becoming
an instant millionaire,' he said.
The PCSO recently launched its popular Power Lotto game as more and more
Philippinos turn to lottery games for the promise of potentially winning riches
beyond their wildest dreams.
