July 19 - For lottery fans in the US state of Oregon fed up with not winning
millions of dollars each week, there is hope on the horizon in the form of a new
soon to be launched 'raffle-style' lottery game that promises lottery players
far higher odds of winning.
The Oregon Lottery is reportedly planning to introduce the new lottery
raffle game in January 2009, which is supposedly similar in nature to a
traditional charity or school raffle, and has been guaranteed to deliver better
odds of winning than its regular Oregon Lottery draws.
News of these lottery raffle tickets will surely come as a big relief to the
millions of Oregonians who are sick and tired of spending their hard-earned
dollars on a traditional lottery game that offers them less chance of winning,
than being struck dead by lightning.
When it's launched next year, players in Oregon will be able to buy lottery
raffle tickets for $10 each for a chance to win the $1 million top prize. Sales
of these tickets will be limited to 250,000, presumable per week, which means
players have an increased chance of winning.
Apart from the $1 million top prize, there will also be smaller prizes up for
grabs ranging from $100 up to $20,000. A statistician has worked out that the
odds of winning the lottery raffle are far greater than the 1 in 6 million odds
of winnings the Oregon Megabucks jackpot.
Many other states in the U.S. have tried lottery raffles tickets with varied
levels of success.
