November 18 - For a lottery scratch ticket fan in New Jersey, a mistake made
by a clerk at Indian Fields Market in Bridgeton proved to be one of the greatest
of his life, after she mistakenly sold him a different scratch ticket to the one
he asked for. But the 'wrong' ticket yielded a $100,000 prize.
The lucky lotto winner bought the scratch ticket on Monday night. According to
Domenic Galle, the owner of Indian Fields Market, he asked the clerk for
Deuces Wild scratch tickets, but was instead given Aces High scratch
tickets. But by the time the clerk realized her mistake, he was gone.
'This person normally buys a full book of lottery scratch ticket, and the clerk
gave him Aces High instead of Deuces Wild,' said Galle. 'He was already out to
the parking lot by the time she realized. When he returned later, he said he
didn't even notice we sold him the wrong ticket until I told him.'
To the complete surprise of staff at Indian Fields Market, he marched back into
the store less than an hour later because the 'wrong' Aces High ticket proved to
be worth a whopping $100,000. When the clerk first saw him she thought he had
returned to the store to complain - until she saw his smile.
While the lucky lottery scratch card winner has chosen to remain anonymous,
Galle is more than happy to shout about the win from the rooftops. For selling
the winning $100,000 Aces High scratch ticket, he'll receive a cool $2,500 from
the New Jersey Lottery (2.5 percent of the total prize value).
Incredibly this is not the first time that the Indian Fields Market has yielded
notable lottery winners. Galle revealed that over the past 10 years his store
has sold individual winning New Jersey Lottery tickets worth $6.8 million,
$350,000 and $30,000 respectively. That's over $7 million in jackpots.
Deuces Wild and Aces High lottery scratch tickets are amongst over 50 instant
win games offered by the New Jersey Lottery.
