August 11 - A single 40-year-old mother in England received a double-dose of
good fortune recently after her doctors recently gave her 'a clean bill of
health' after a year's intensive treatment for cancer, just few weeks after she
scooped 2.5 million pounds in the UK Lotto.
A year ago mother-of-two Tracy Foster, from Benfleet in the English county of
Essex, was diagnosed with cancer and was immediately put on a strict regime of
drugs and various treatments, including chemotherapy, which is renowned for
being very tough on patients.
Said Foster, 'I thought that being diagnosed with cancer was terrible, but it
was nothing compared with how hard it was to deal with the chemotherapy, which
was horrendous. While the past year has been the worst in my life, at least I
had the support of my sons, plus my lucky UK Lotto win.'
Almost at the end of her cancer treatment, Tracy Foster went to buy her usual UK
Lotto tickets and was shocked when she realized that she had won 2.5 million
pounds in the July 30th draw. Her unexpected windfall is proof that there is a
silver lining to every cloud.
As to what the self-employed catalogue distributor is planning on doing with her
UK Lotto millions, she says that she'll probably upgrade her three-bedroom
semi-detached house to a four or five bedroom house, and presumably put some
money aside for sons' education.
'Once I've bought the house that I have always dreamt of owning, I'm going to
replace my Ford Focus with something a little nicer as well as treat myself and
my sons to a luxurious holiday in New York city at the end of this year. Thanks
UK Lotto!' said Foster.
As of May this year, the UK Lotto (UK National Lottery) has raised 21 billion
pounds for Good Causes and in July awarded its 300,000th National Lottery
grant.
