July 30 - Somewhere in the vastness that is the state of Western Australia, a
lucky lotto jackpot winner is roaming who has still not claimed his or her $13
million jackpot prize - as one of four Division 1 winners - from last week's
massive Australian Lotto $50 million jackpot draw.
One of two winners from Western Australia, a great grandmother has already come
forward to claim her $13 million and made news headlines across Australia when
she pledged $2 million of her Australian Lotto windfall to various children's
charities including Channel Seven's Telethon.
The as yet unclaimed ticket is worth a staggering $13,185,273.02, one of the
Western Australia's largest ever Australia Lotto jackpots. While it is not
unheard of for some lottery jackpot winners to take some time to realize their
good fortunes, it is unusual when the jackpots are so large.
Whoever the mystery Australian Lotto jackpot winner is, what is known
about him or her is that they bought the ticket at Beechboro Newsagency in the
city of Perth.
Said Gina Zanotti, a spokesperson for Lotterywest, which operates Australian
Lotto, 'Many lottery players only check their previous week's tickets when
buying tickets for the current week's draw. Who knows, perhaps when our winner
buys a ticket for the next Australian Lotto draw, they'll be in for a $13
million surprise.'
There is another theory. It is pretty well known amongst regular Australian
Lotto players that it takes about two weeks from the time of each draw to pay
out the respective winners.
Maybe the winner from last Tuesday's draw will wait until next week to come
forward and experience 'instant millionairehood', Australia Lotto style.
