Oz Lotto is one of the richest and most popular lotteries in
Australia. It is the official lottery of New South Wales and ACT and is
run by NSW Lotteries and retailed by Lotterywest. It is a national
lottery game, so entry is not limited to these territories.
This is a jackpot game with 7 prize divisions, giving you 7 ways to win
- ranging from getting 3 winning numbers plus either supplementary
number, to 7 winning numbers, which wins you the grand jackpot. The draw
is made every Tuesday at 18h28 local time (08h28 GMT). You can choose to
make a Standard entry (up to 24 games), a Systems entry (up to an
equivalent of 31,824 standard games) or Multi-Week entries, which allow
you to enter up to 25 weeks in advance. System entries allow you to win
in more ways. You can also enter the Oz Lotto as a syndicate.Oz
Lotto draws 9 balls, randomly selected by machine. The first 7 balls
are the straightforward winning numbers and the next 2 are supplementary
numbers. Winners of prizes from Division 2- 7 can claim their winnings
from the day after the draw, from Lotterywest retailers. Division 1
(jackpot) winners receive their payouts after a 2 week validation
period. The main jackpot will pay out 40% of the entire prize pool, or
if the jackpot is not won, this 40% will be retained in the prize fund.
Lotterywest runs a range of community funding programmes with the
proceeds of Oz Lotto, including hospital services, sporting
organisations and as patrons of the arts. Roughly 30% of the all money
spent on the lottery goes to the community in Western Australia. |
